Mary leads 4MATIV’s Client Services team, empowering school districts and state agencies across the country to enact innovative student mobility solutions via collaborative design and analysis. In her work, Mary brings expertise and passion for strategic data use, human-centered design, and team capacity-building. Mary began her career in education as a Teach For America Corps Member, teaching high school English and English Language Development in Oakland, CA. She then served as a teacher and instructional coach for Aspire Public Schools in Berkeley, CA. After her time in the classroom, Mary transitioned to key leadership roles in Boston Public Schools (BPS). At BPS, Mary coached Turnaround and Transformation school leaders and founded the BPS Data Inquiry Team. She then served as the BPS Executive Director of Data and Accountability, leading system-wide strategy related to analytics, student assessment, data inquiry, performance management, and research. Immediately prior to joining 4MATIV, Mary served as Chief of Staff for the Boston Public Schools throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, guiding implementation of the district’s strategic vision, managing the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet, and overseeing communications and intergovernmental relations. Mary holds a B.A. in Policy Studies and Sociology from Rice University and a master’s degree in Urban Education Policy from Brown University. Mary lives with her spouse and two boys in Boston, Massachusetts.
